REMINISCE

Do you remember your first love? The one you thought would last forever,  the one you thought was as easy as breathing, you thought he or she was THE ONE. The one you sacrificed and made compromises for even tho they never did the same.  The one you forgave time and time again even when he stopped deserving it?  

Now you remember with a dreamy smile and a far off look on your eve's as you remember how things were perfect, how he swept you off your feet, flew you on cloud nine. Lol... I remember my first love and I talked about baby names when we hadn't even kissed yet. I was checking my old school notes the other day and saw his name scribbled in some corners. Then I remember the day he left me shattered. 

"sticks and stones can break my bones but words don't affect me" That's a big fat lie. A broken bone, a scrapped knee, a bee sting and the deepest of pains seem nothing in comparison to the immense pain of an heartbreak. Words cut deeper than the sharpest knives.  A breakup sentence can bring down your world, make you crash and burn and make you suffer intense pain all in the span of 1 minute. And it stays with you forever and ever. 

. Even when it stops hurting, you remember it and just smile. 

But we must also remember that there was something worth loving... Even if it's only to justify the love that was lost and the trust that was broken. If you're able to remember it, then you must know that you weren't a fool. You were just naive.
